Rockabye Baby

38 weeks pregnant, swollen feet, acid reflux, sleepless nights, and an inability to get off the couch without assistance… ah the joys.

Obviously as a new mom I will be slightly obsessed (totally obsessed?) with all things baby but I will make an effort to maintain a balanced blog and not scare away those of you who are not of the mommy-blog persuasion!

To start out I’d like to introduce you to my little boy’s first albums:

You should definitely check out their website or iTunes; from Bjork to the Ramones to Tool the selection is very entertaining!

Radiohead + Studio = New Album!

Sources over at AtEaseWeb.com confirm that Radiohead will start working on a new album this coming winter! Despite earlier rumours that the band would not be releasing official albums Ed O’Brien has indicated that this is not accurate, they have not abandoned the album format (insert sigh of relief here!).

In actual fact they really like the ‘physicality’ of albums.  I have to agree with Ed on that.  The combination of art and the composition of songs that make up an album are definitely something I can appreciate.  I still buy music online but I’d rather get my hands on it.  I’m excited to discover where their winter in the country will take their music!

If the band is out there reading this… my offer of a home cooked meal and baked goodies when you’re in town stands.

Johnny has his say

Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead has a chat with Sasha Frere-Jones, the pop-music critic of The New Yorker.

Johnny’s got some entertaining things to say about MP3s and the sound quality of recorded music.

Present Tense

Thom Yorke performed solo this week at the Latitude Festival.  I wish I had been there.

Check out his haunting performance of a new tune, “Present Tense”:

Radiohead meet Dave Brubeck

It’s my birthday and the only thing that could beat my homemade chocolate chip cookies for breakfast is a mash up of Radiohead’s 15 Step & Dave Brubeck’s Take Five

Brilliant!

P.S. This is an exception to my “I Hate Mash Ups” rule.

Radiohead Live @ The Grammys

Thom Yorke just posted a link on Dead Air Space to the video of their performance with the USC Marching Band.

If you head to the Google video page you can actually download a high res version of the video!

Enjoy!
