The Acorn at Home

The Acorn performed at Bluesfest in their hometown of Ottawa yesterday.  The outdoor festival has always been a fantastic way to watch live music and this was definitely no exception!

The band played a beautiful blend of songs from their previous albums with a touch of new music as well.   And despite the rumours I think they give great banter.

If you haven’t listened to The Acorn or if you just can’t get enough check out some of the tunes they recorded for Have You Heard.  If you want to know more about the band Stereogum had a great interview with a few of them about their day jobs.  For some fantastic black and white photos of the band from a gig in New York and a few wry comments from Jeff Debutte check out SarahSpy’s blog.

Here are a few photos from the Ottawa show… click on the shots to see a larger image.

  2. You’re welcome! It was a fab interview… I’m just left wondering what the “something-something” is that Jeff mentioned. A new album perhaps? I don’t know where they find the time to do all these things! 🙂
